The Great Helm

The Crusader Helmet or Great Helm, also called a "bucket helm," was a powerful helmet used by knights in the 12th and 13th centuries. It was made of steel and covered the entire head like a metal box!

This helmet had small slits for the eyes and holes for breathing, making it super protective but a bit hard to see or hear in. Knights wore it over a padded cap or a smaller helmet for extra comfort.

The Great Helm was great for jousting and battles during the Crusades. It made knights look really tough and scary on the battlefield.

Over time, new helmets were made that were easier to wear, but the Great Helm is still one of the most famous medieval helmets and a symbol of brave knights in shining armor.
